Vadim Gutzeit, the current Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, has been elected the new president of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.

The elections were held at the next General assembly of NOC.

The minister's candidacy was supported by 123 delegates. Olympic wrestling champion and People's Deputy Zhan Beleniuk won 22 votes, and scientist Ihor Malynskyi – 2.

Serhii Bubka, who led the NOC of Ukraine since 2005, did not participate in the elections.

Former football player Andriy Shevchenko, as well as Maria Bulatova, Oleksiy Perevezentsev and Oleksiy Dniprov became vice-presidents of the NOC.

Vadim Gutzait has been a minister since March 2020, and since 2017 he has been the president of the Ukrainian Fencing Federation. In the past, he became the Olympic champion in saber fencing.

The Executive Committee of the organization included Gutzait himself, as well as Oleksiy Perevezentsev, Maria Bulatova, Oleksiy Dniprov, Andriy Shevchenko, Nina Umanets, Larisa Zaspa, Iryna Deryugina, Lilia Podkopaeva , Olga Kharlan, Serhiy Bubka, Valery Borzov, Andrii Melnyk, Mykhailo Kashlyak, Oleksandr Krikun, Viktor Remskyi, Pavlo Kostenko, Yevhen Bazhenkov, Igor Lysov, Oleg Nemchinov and the head of the Athletes' Commission of the NOC, who will be elected by the members of the commission later.
