The Pitmen have gained some potential rivals.
Shakhtar Donetsk got to the third basket for the draw of the group stage of the Champions League of the 2022/23 season.
The Pitmen took the first place in the Ukrainian championship, which was interrupted due to the military Russian invasion, so they got a direct ticket to the Champions League.
Basket for the Champions League draw:
Basket 1: “Eintracht” , “Manchester City”, “Real”, “Milan”, “Bayern”, PSG, “Porto”, “Liverpool” (in case of victory over “Real” in the Champions League final) or “Ajax”;
Basket 2: “Chelsea”, “Barcelona”, “Juventus”, “Atletico”, “Sevilla”, “RB Leipzig”, “Tottenham”, “Liverpool” (in case of defeat in the Champions League final ) or Ajax;
Basket 3: Borussia D, Salzburg, Shakhtar , “Inter”, “Napoli”, “Sporting”, “Bayer”, the eighth team will be determined in the Champions League qualification.
The fourth basket will be formed based on the results of the Champions League qualification. It is worth noting that Dynamo Kyiv will play in the selection.
