The German “Cologne” appealed to UEFA with the demand to remove all teams from the championship of Belarus from participating in the European Cups.

The official letter was published by the club's press service.< /p>

“The board of directors strongly condemns the open closeness of the Belarusian government to Russia, as well as the actions related to the war in Ukraine. The huge support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine goes against not only the values of “Cologne”, but also the entire sport .

For this reason, “Cologne” turned to UEFA and the president of the organization, Alexander Ceferin, with a letter, in which they call for compliance with the recommendations of the IOC and to exclude teams from Belarus from all tournaments under the auspices of UEFA, as was the case with the Russian clubs. We informed the head of the German Football Association about our position and k we will contact other participants of the Conference League in order to enlist their support,” the statement said.

“Cologne” should play in the Conference League qualification playoffs, where the German team's rivals may be Belarusian BATE, “Gomel” , “Shakhtar” Soligorsk and “Dynamo” Minsk.
