The famous Brazilian football player Pele died at the age of 82 due to a serious illness, the Associated Press reports.
Pele was hospitalized at the end of November due to a respiratory infection. At the same time, since September of last year, the Brazilian received cancer therapy after the removal of a colon tumor.
Recently, the King of Football's condition worsened sharply, chemotherapy did not help, the Brazilian began to suffer from heart and kidney failure. Doctors gave him only palliative care.
Pele (Edson Arantis do Nascimento) played professionally for the Santos (1956-1974) and New York Cosmos (1975-1977) clubs. As part of the Brazilian national team, the attacker played 92 matches and scored 77 goals. He is the only football player in history, who during his playing career became the world champion three times (1958, 1962, 1970).
