Day with light: next week in Kyiv and Dnipro will measure the real need for electricity

NEC “Ukrenergo” has decided to measure the real consumption of electricity. Therefore, each region will have its own day when the lights will not be turned off.

As YASNO writes, this will give an opportunity to understand what volumes are actually needed for full normal electricity consumption by all users in each region. In addition, there will be an opportunity to take into account the relocation of businesses, population migration and other changes in electricity consumption when setting limits.

What will change? The obtained results will allow NEC “Ukrenergo” to adjust the volume of limits for each region and take care of fairness in the formation of schedules.

Approximate dates of measurements by NEC “Ukrenergo”:

  • February 16 — Dnipropetrovsk region,
  • February 17 — Kyiv.
