Water meter: how to correctly record and transmit readings

In Ukraine, every water consumer must record and transmit meter readings every month. The publication HB told what types of water meters there are and how to take readings.

What are water meters

Water meters are of three main types:< /p>

  • electronic – information is displayed on a special panel;
  • tachometric – water consumption is calculated by the revolutions of the impeller in the water;
  • combined-roller – in this type of meters features of vane and turbine counters are combined.

How to check for which water the meter is installed

< p>Most often, two meters are installed at once: for hot and cold water. If you have two devices installed, first figure out which one measures cold water and which one measures hot water.

There are several ways to do this:

  • color marking — on the body the device for cold water has a blue marking, for hot water – red;
  • letter marking – cold water – ХВС (ВСХ), hot water – HVP (ВСГ);
  • visual method – open the tap with hot water and watch the meter. If the wheel rotates, it means that the device is counting the consumption of hot water.

How to remove the indicator from water meters

To fix the counter data, it is necessary to rewrite the numbers displayed on the dial. If a roller device with 8 digits in the scale is used, then the last one is rounded up.

The obtained result is multiplied by the price according to the current utility tariff established in your locality. The result of the calculations is entered into the settlement receipt or book for further payment of funds.
