First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Taras Vysotskyi, told how blackouts affect the agricultural sector, writes AgroPortal.

“The Ministry is constantly considering applications from agricultural producers for their inclusion in the list of critical infrastructure. There are already dozens of positive solutions. This is the first event that helps critical branches of the agricultural sector to work without interruption. We also have a joint clarification from the Ministry of Energy regarding the decree on the import of electricity, which also gives the right to constant uninterrupted access to electricity. And the third important measure is the help of international partners in providing generators. There are already the first deliveries,” he emphasized.

According to him, this will not technically provide the same conditions as before the start of shelling of energy infrastructure facilities, but it should help overcome the energy crisis with minimal costs and most importantly, it will not stop the activity of strategically important enterprises.

“The greenhouse sector is the most problematic, as it is the most energy-intensive,” explained Taras Vysotskyi. — This is definitely the sector where we experience significant losses. And it can be argued that the greenhouse group is now the most difficult.”

For other segments, losses are expected at the level of only 10-15%.
