Ukrainians are already undergoing military training in Great Britain.
The EU may launch a major training operation for Ukrainian forces in neighboring countries. This was announced by the head of the foreign policy department of the bloc, Josep Borrell.
According to him, this proposal will be discussed at a two-day meeting of EU defense ministers next week.
“It seems reasonable that the war, which continues and seems doomed to end, requires efforts not only from the point of view of the supply of materials. This is something that is being discussed among member states and will be discussed politically next week,” he said, according to The Telegraph.
The former Spanish foreign minister said that the details of the military training operation should be agreed by all states- by EU members after a meeting in Prague that begins on Monday.
Speaking at a press conference in Santander in northern Spain, Borrell said that “several” countries are already conducting military training of Ukrainian forces in accordance with bilateral agreements.< /p>
“Of course it's going to be a big mission, I think it's going to be a big mission,” he said, adding that “any mission has to be commensurate with the level of conflict.”
