Canada is preparing to export oil and gas to Europe

Canada is conducting negotiations regarding the supply of gas and oil with European countries, in particular with Spain and Germany. Interfax-Ukraine writes about this with reference to Western media, which in turn refer to the country's foreign minister, Melanie Jolie.

“It is important for Canada to be able to take a step forward and help our European friends who are facing very complex energy realities,” the minister said.

According to her, Canada is discussing with European allies, “especially with the Germans and the Spanish,” how it would be possible to export oil and gas from the east coast of the country in order to to ease energy constraints and provide an alternative to Russian energy resources.

Negotiations between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took place in June at the G7 summit in Germany.

The two countries are discussing options for exporting liquefied natural gas to Europe through a terminal on the east coast of Canada.
