British Defense Minister Ben Wallace notes that today the world has become much more dangerous and more unstable. His words are quoted by the BBC publication.

“The waves are spreading far from Ukraine. We see a more assertive China. We see a more assertive Al-Qaeda, the Al-Shabaab group in East Africa. Radicalization and Islamist extremism are spreading through Africa quite quickly even now,” he said he.

Wallace notes that the world is now on a trajectory of greater threat. According to him, Russia's war against Ukraine demonstrated the “cost of devastation” of defense budgets across Europe after the end of the Cold War.
