On January 6, on Christmas Eve, which precedes Christmas according to the Julian calendar, it is customary to prepare 12 lean dishes. Among them should be kutya, dumplings, as well as a healthy and tasty drink – uzvar.

Traditional uzvar

Ingredients:

  • Prunes – 200 g
  • Honey – 200 g
  • Raisins – 100 g
  • Water – 2 l
  • Pears – 200 g
  • Apples – 200 g

Preparation:

  • Pour the dried fruits with cold water for 10 minutes, rinse.
  • Add 2 liters of water to the pot, put the pears. Cook over low heat for 20 minutes.
  • Add prunes, apples and raisins. Cook for another 15 minutes.
  • Bring to a boil, add honey.
  • Serve the concoction chilled.

Aroma brew with cherry

Ingredients:

  • Dried pears – 100 g
  • Dried apples – 100 g
  • Dried cherries – 100 g
  • Prunes – 60 g
  • Raisins – 60 g
  • Lemon – 1 pc .
  • Cinnamon – 1 tsp
  • Cloves – 4 pcs.
  • Nutmeg – to taste
  • Sugar – to taste< /li>
  • Water – 4 l.

Preparation:

  • Put sugar in a saucepan, pour water, bring to a boil.
  • Add dried pears to the pan, after 5 minutes add apples, after 5 minutes add prunes and dried cherries, in the last 5 minutes add raisins.
  • Boil the concoction over low heat.
  • When all the dried fruits become soft, add cinnamon and cloves. Let the drink boil a little.
  • Squeeze the lemon juice, add to the concoction, mix, boil for another two minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and let the concoction infuse for 5-6 hours.

Concoction with wine

Ingredients:

  • Dried apple – 4 pcs.
  • Dried pear – 3 pcs.
  • Dried fruits – 1/2 tbsp.
  • < li>Cloves – 5 pcs.

  • White dry wine – 1 tbsp.
  • Sugar – 1/2 tbsp.

Preparation:

  • Wash the dried fruits, put them in a saucepan, add cloves, a little cinnamon, pour water and cook until half cooked.
  • Add white table wine to the mixture, put sugar.
  • < li>Bring to a boil several times, let it brew for 2-3 hours.

  • Let the concoction cool and serve.
