To the ninth anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity, the General Prosecutor's Office reported on the state of the investigation of the so-called “Maidan Cases”.

  • 7 civilians.
  • Also, the law enforcement officers received permission from the court to carry out a special pre-trial investigation in relation to 26 suspects. During the year, 19 indictments were submitted to the court, according to which 50 defendants are being tried. Currently, the courts are considering 120 cases involving 247 defendants.

    But over the past year, only two guilty verdicts were handed down in Maidan cases.

    “Maidan cases remain extremely important and a priority for the leadership and prosecutors of the General Prosecutor's Office. Prosecutors will continue to make every effort to ensure that they receive a logical conclusion, and the guilty persons receive a fair punishment,” the Prosecutor General's Office added.
