Fighters The Ukrainian Armed Forces are mastering the Polish GROT submachine guns - Ukrainian Association of Weapons Owners

After the Soviet Kalash, the convenience of GROT is particularly impressive. This is what our fighters, who have already received these weapons, say, ”reads the publication on the website of the Ukrainian Association of Weapons Owners.

For the Polish defense industry, the development of GROT was a challenge, because it was about creating an assault rifle from scratch. In addition, the designers immediately set the maximum high bar – the new development was to be better than the German HK416 and Belgian FN SCAR-L.

The main feature GROT – modularity. In fact, the whole system is a constructor from which you can assemble a machine gun, assault rifle or compact weapon for street fighting. And all this can be done in the field.

GROT C16 is a classic assault rifle with automatic piston short-stroke automatic with barrel channel locking when turning the shutter. The weight of the rifle without cartridges for the version with a barrel of 406 mm (16 inches) – 3.65 kg, which is approximately equal to the AK-74. Dimensions: 900 mm and 843 mm with folded butt.

The developers paid special attention to ergonomics: the classic for NATO countries three-position fire selector under the thumb; a mine for a standard NATO store and a large reset key. The shutter handles, which remain stationary during shooting, are on both sides. All controls are duplicated so that the shulgi can also be easily guided with a rifle. The direction of ejection of the cartridges also changes.

As for the range and accuracy of GROT C16 firing, they are standard for assault rifles. The aiming range of the developers is 500 meters, the standard cluster according to the specification is 150 mm from the average aiming point per 100 meters. Speed is also standard for NATO systems – 700-900 shots per minute.

The cost of the GROT C16 – about $ 2,200 per unit.

Characteristics of GROT C16 FB-M2:

  • ammunition: 5, 56×45 mm NATO,
  • initial bullet velocity: 890 m/s,
  • muzzle energy : 1600 J,
  • theoretical rate of fire: 700-900 shots per minute,
  • aiming range: 500 m.
  • Length with butt/with folded: 900/843 mm,
  • barrel length: 406 mm.
  • Weapon weight without magazine: 3650
