Due to the full-scale military invasion of Russia, martial law has been introduced in Ukraine, hostilities continue and air alert sirens sound. There are certain rules of behavior during an air alert that must be followed. The Ministry of Reintegration told about them.
What to do if you heard a siren at home
In this case, it is necessary:
- < li>turn off all appliances, shut off the gas supply and, if available, extinguish open fire sources (stoves, stoves, fireplaces);
- leave the premises quickly;
- take the shortest route to the nearest protective structure or shelter. To do this, you should find out in advance where the bomb shelter is;
- do not use the elevator during evacuation. Go down the stairs only;
- if there are no protective structures near the house, you should choose the safest place in the apartment according to the “two walls” rule: a corridor or a bathroom. It is necessary to stay as far as possible from windows.

How to act, if you hear an air-raid alarm siren outside
If you are outside and an air-raid alarm has started, you must:
- quickly go to the nearest shelter (underpass, metro station, parking lot or bomb shelter);
- stay as far as possible from strategically important structures or critical infrastructure objects.
