After six weeks of trial, the jury handed down a verdict in favor of Johnny Depp
Johnny Depp was not present at the trial during the verdict. Amber Gerd was disappointed with the jury's decision, who was not convinced by the evidence of her innocence. Now, Gerd has to pay Depp $ 15 million, according to the Daily Mail.
Depp did not speak. However, the scandal reached such proportions that most Hollywood studios refused to work with Depp – both Disney (“Pirates of the Caribbean”) and Warner Bros. (“Fantastic Creatures”).
Depp sued for $ 50 million in compensation, after which a similar lawsuit was filed by Gerd – she has already demanded $ 100 million.

During the trial, Depp said he never raised his hand against women – denying any accusations against Gerd. Due to Gerd's accusations, Depp's career was badly ruined, and he also lost the lead role in the six “Pirates of the Caribbean” that he wanted to shoot for fans.
In November 2020, the studio Warner Bros. asked Depp to relinquish his role as the evil wizard Green de Wald in the Fantastic Creatures series after he lost a lawsuit against The Sun. Depp accused The Sun of slander because it published an article in which it was claimed that the actor beat his wife Gerd at least 14 times. The actor lost because the High Court of England and Wales confirmed 12 of the 14 cases of violence, deciding that the tabloid information was “mostly true”.
