One of the founders of the band “Dead Rooster” Lyubomyr Futorskyi died at the age of 51. This was announced on Facebook by Taras Chubai, the leader of the “Lamentation of Jeremiah” band.
“The best songs of “Dead Rooster” were written by Lyubko Futor. Bright memory and the Kingdom of Heaven,” he wrote.

“This news caught up with me in our native Lviv with Futor. Lubomyr Futorskyi, uncle, you had no right to do that. I will finally reveal the mysterious plans. Back in the winter of 2022, after Miska's death, Barbara decided that the group would gather again for a summer solo concert and record a new album over the last 10 years. The comeback was supposed to be in Lviv. Mykhailo Krupievsky was to become the director of the whole action. Yarka was supposed to fly from the States. As in the old days, Futor had to take the microphone instead of his cousin… But then the invasion began and… we occasionally echoed in the group chat. “We made plans – we made God laugh” as TNMK sings… Futor recorded/sung the first verses of the songs “Baika” and “Eto” back in the Carpathians in 1989. Two cousins and two vocalists of “Pivniv2… – and not retired grandfathers at all. Big Jam In Heaven”, – wrote on Facebook the guitarist of the band “Dead Rooster” Roman Chaika.

Lyubomyr Futorskyi born in 1972, studied at the physics faculty of the Ivan Franko National University. During their student years, together with their musician friends, in particular their cousin Mykhailo Barbara, they began to gather in the “Old Lviv” cafe, over the entrance of which hung a weathervane – a figurine of a rooster. The musicians were nicknamed his “dead”, so the name of the band was born.
