The Ministry of Education and Science of Poland noted that the inclusion of games in the educational process makes it possible to transfer knowledge in an attractive way for schoolchildren, developing soft skills and expanding the boundaries of imagination.

“The game confronts the player with the realities of civil wars, and then – following the example of a series of masterpieces of anti-war prose of the 20th century – it is proposed to deepen the humanistic understanding of the position of the victims: defenseless civilians, including children,” says the website of the Polish agency.

The game is based on the events of the siege of Sarajevo, which lasted four years. Users play for a peaceful population that is trying to survive in the conditions of a civil war. This War of Mine touches on many topics, its main task is to cause users to reject war.

Polish authorities have announced their intention to include the game in the school curriculum as early as 2020.
