Ukraine will continue to pay social benefits in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhia region. This was announced by the mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov.

According to him, the salaries of teachers, doctors and other social benefits will also be paid.

“The principled position of the president and the government : Melitopol is a Ukrainian city that will be deoccupied. Therefore, pensions, social benefits, salaries of educators, doctors and public sector workers will be financed in 2023 as well,” Fedorov emphasized.

According to Fedorov, most pensioners (90%) receive payments on bank cards and next year they will also receive them.

However, there are certain problems. In particular, those people who do not have a bank card. But, according to the mayor, the funds of these people will not go anywhere.

“There is a problem with payments to residents who did not have time to issue cards before the rioters blocked the operation of our banking system in Melitopol. However, funds are charged to these people as well. They are accumulated in special accounts and can be received immediately after deoccupation or after leaving the territory controlled by Ukraine,” explained the mayor.

Ivan Fedorov added that other social payments, as well as salaries for educators, doctors and employees of the budget spheres are also included in the budget for next year.
