Price growth in the Russian Federation seems to be quite restrained – according to the results of last year, it was 11.9%, but this is also a record of the last seven years. Yuliya Samaeva, economics editor of ZN.UA“Anti-records of the Russian economy”, writes about this in her material.

At the same time, 70% of goods and services, which are evaluated by the inflation index, i.e. practically everything, except for fuel and buckwheat.

“With such a start, how to reach the planned inflation of 5% in 2023? In theory, import substitution, restrained budget spending and a strong ruble could help. But if the sale of yuan will somehow support the ruble, then the other two conditions are impossible in the conditions of war and sanctions,” the author writes.
