Tourist flow to the Russian Federation fell by 90%.
The number of foreign tourists who came to Russia this year decreased by 90% compared to 2021, the Telegram channel “Sanctions in the Russian Federation” reports.< /p>
It is noted that Russian tour operators accepted only a few hundred foreign tourists. Before the pandemic, 300-400 thousand tourists from different countries came to the Russian Federation annually. This year, they came exclusively for business meetings and individual tourists.
Tourists stopped coming to the Russian Federation for four reasons: difficulties with obtaining visas, flights, bank cards, as well as “negative information background around the country”.
In addition, after the start of the war, the Russian Federation closed the sky to planes from 36 countries. Many countries, such as Germany, the USA, Finland, the Baltic states and others, recommended that their citizens not enter Russia, and those who are there, leave the country.
