German Chancellor Olaf Scholz opposes the launch of the surviving thread of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline. Scholz expressed this opinion in an interview with Focus.

The journalist asked Scholz whether this branch of the gas pipeline will be put into operation, to which the chancellor replied: “It's hard for me to imagine.”

After the sabotage on the Nord Stream-1 and Nord Stream-2 gas pipelines, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin offered to supply Russian gas to Europe via Nord Stream-2.

The gas pipeline was built before the beginning full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, but was not put into operation due to the sanctions imposed on the aggressor.

Russia is suspected of being involved in sabotage. According to analysts, by shutting down the gas pipeline, Moscow is intensifying gas blackmail of Europe and, at the same time, is seeking the launch of PP-2 at any price.
