The European Parliament approved the allocation of an additional 1 billion euros to Ukraine

The European Parliament approved the provision of 1 billion euros of macrofinancial assistance to Ukraine in connection with the war, reports European Truth.

The European Parliament supported the proposal of the European Commission to allocation of additional aid to Ukraine on favorable terms, up to the 1.2 billion euros transferred in March and May.

This amount is the first tranche of an exclusive package of macro-financial assistance for a total amount of 9 billion euros.

Financial assistance is provided as quick financial support in conditions of acute need, so that Ukraine can provide funding for the most important state functions.

Funds are provided subject to a number of criteria, including the preservation of democratic mechanisms, despite the concentration of power in the executive branch in the conditions of and increased transparency and reporting on use.

Earlier it was reported that the EU is starting to prepare for the confiscation of frozen Russian assets in favor of Ukraine. The European Commission started developing the legal framework. Moscow calls such actions theft.
