Europe's largest airline, Germany's Lufthansa, said it will not use Russian airspace until at least March 25, 2023 due to the current regulatory situation.

“From this reasons all Lufthansa flights to and from Russia for this period should be cancelled,” the company said in a statement.

Also, all Lufthansa Group airlines will stop flights until March 25, 2023 inclusive to and from Ukraine, as the airspace over the country is closed and civil aviation flights are not carried out.

“Lufthansa Group continues to closely monitor the situation and is in close contact with national and international authorities. The company will make a decision on further flights later,” the airline said.

Due to the worsening of the situation in Ukraine this winter Lufthansa Group announced the suspension of air transportation to Ukraine from February 21 to 28.

After the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, the company announced the temporary suspension of all flights to Russia from February 27. In the same period, EU countries, Great Britain and a number of others closed the airspace for Russian airlines.
