The color of the new year will be Viva Magenta.
The Pantone Institute has chosen the color that will define the new year 2023. It became carmine-red PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta.
“Bold and fearless, a pulsating color, the abundance of which promotes optimism and joy. Powerful and inspiring, this animated red encourages experimentation and unrestricted self-expression; an electrifying, limitless shade that's clearly “out there” and makes a statement. Bold, witty and comprehensive, Viva Magenta welcomes anyone and everyone with the same rebellious spirit,” the institute said in a statement.

There also noted that the new color combines crimson and red shades and is a balance between warm and cold. It is also a hybrid color that combines physical and virtual.
It has also been described as “assertive but not aggressive, a carmine red that doesn't dominate boldly but instead takes a 'fist in a velvet glove' approach”.
