Prime Minister of Saxony Michael Kretschmer spoke again in favor of the repair of the damaged gas pipeline “North Stream-1”.The politician hopes for the restoration of Russian gas supplies in the future, RND reports.

“If the damage is not repaired, Nord Stream-1 will be permanently unusable,” CDU Deputy Chairman Kretchmer emphasized in an interview

According to him, the operators should ensure the possibility of repairing the pipeline.

Despite the fact that Kretschmer admits that there will be no return to the issue of Russian natural gas as long as the war in Ukraine continues, he is convinced that Germany should ensure that after the end of the war, Germany should be able to use not only very expensive liquefied gas.

For according to him, the search for cheaper alternatives to gas is the protection of Germany's national interests. Therefore, in order to protect these interests, he insists on studying the question of finding cheaper alternatives to gas.

In view of the consequences for the economy, Kretschmer insists on a social consensus on energy supply in the coming decades.

“The rise in energy prices is taking the breath away from companies across Germany. Intervening in crisis situations is right, but we will not solve the problem only with unprecedented individual measures,” a certain politician who believes that . energy should not become a scarce commodity in an industrialized country.
