Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi said that the United States will not allow China to isolate Taiwan.
” It (Beijing – ed.) can try to keep Taiwan from visiting other places, but it cannot isolate Taiwan by preventing us from coming there,” the speaker said while speaking in Tokyo.
Before visiting South Korea and Japan, Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan, a visit that has greatly angered China, which is seeking to regain control of the island. Beijing threatened Washington with the deterioration of bilateral relations, and also started large-scale military exercises off the coast of Taiwan.
