Famous designer Paco Rabanne died in France

On Friday, February 3, at the age of 88, the outstanding French designer and fashion designer Paco Rabanne of Spanish origin passed away. This became known from the official page of his brand on Facebook.

“The House of Paco Rabanne wishes to honor our visionary designer and founder, who died today at the age of 88. Among the most significant figures of fashion of the 20th century, his legacy will remain a constant source of inspiration. We are grateful to Monsieur Rabanne for creating our avant-garde legacy and defining a future of limitless possibilities,” the post reads.

Paco Rabanne's representatives did not reveal the cause of his death.

The couturier first attracted the attention of the public in the 1960s, when he dared to experiment in the world of fashion, starting to use unusual materials for clothing at that time – paper, plastic and metal.

After Rabanne was noticed by the international press with the presentation of the first collection in Paris in 1966, the designer continued to experiment. Subsequently, he not only used the mentioned materials, but also created objects, in particular, from feathers, leather, woven mail, dried flowers and lace.

In the following years, the fashion designer also became famous in the field of perfumery, creating a men's fragrance Paco Rabanne pour Homme. He is also known for the costumes he designed for a significant number of films (including “Barbarella”), theater productions and ballets, as well as painting.

During his life, Paco Rabanne visited Ukraine several times. For example, in 2006, he held an exhibition of graphics in the gallery of the Foundation for the Promotion of Arts Development. He was inspired by the changes in our country against the background of the Orange Revolution. “Ukraine reminds me of a flower that unfolds its petals before my eyes,” the fashion designer said at the time.

In the last years of his life, the designer worked together with Rosemary Rodriguez on modern things for the Paco Rabanne brand.
