The Kherson direction remains key for the offensive, followed by Crimea and Donbas – Podoliak

In his opinion, a turning point in the war is possible after Donetsk and Luhansk are returned to Ukrainian control.

The Kherson direction is one of the key points in the current counteroffensive of the Armed Forces. Another important direction is Luhansk, according to the advisor to the head of the OPU Mykhailo Podolyak.

The liberation of Kherson will allow to block the corridor to Crimea and conduct a military operation to de-occupy the Ukrainian peninsula .

“The lifting of the blockade of Kherson will allow us to count on certain actions regarding the blocking of the corridor to Crimea – well, and accordingly regarding the conduct of special operations already in Crimea. They are being worked out, we are working on it now,” he said.

Podolyak believes that the turning point in the war will take place after Ukraine regains control over Donetsk and Luhansk. Immediately after that, it will be possible to liberate Crimea.

“Crimea as such does not exist as a defense hub. As soon as Donetsk and Luhansk fall, everyone leaves Crimea,” adds Podolyak.

And only after a successful military campaign are negotiations with the Russian Federation possible. At this time, the adviser to the head of the OPU believes, the political elites in Russia will be updated.

“We will definitely come in and take everything away. And then the negotiation process will begin, when we will present our ultimate, very tough demands. I think that by this time there will be a certain renewal of the political elite in the Russian Federation, and I think that these demands will be shocking for Russia,” Podolyak shared his plans.
