The security service detained an enemy informer in Lviv who, under the guise of a resettled woman, collected data about the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The traitor turned out to be a resident of the Mykolaiv region, who is the sister of another traitor of the Motherland, recently detained by the SBU, the special service reported.

“She was remotely involved in cooperation in October of last year. Counter-intelligence officers of the Security Service documented that the suspect was gathering intelligence about the bases and movements of the Defense Forces in Lviv,” the SBU said.

In order to disguise her intelligence activities, the perpetrator pretended to be a migrant from the front-line areas of the south.

“According to the investigation, the informant often visited the territory near the locations of military formations and made marks on electronic maps. Subsequently, she tried to transfer the collected data to the Russian Federation via messenger,” the Ukrainian special service added.

The traitor was detained by SBU officers while trying to transmit intelligence information to the occupiers. During the search, computer equipment and seven mobile phones were seized from the perpetrator. One of the cellphones had evidence of criminal activity.

“Investigators of the Security Service informed her about the suspicion. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention. An investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of the crime,” the SBU added.
