The Ukraine-EU summit will be held on February 3, 2023, the spokesman for the President of the European Council, Charles Michel Barend Leits, said on Thursday, December 22.

< p>“I can confirm that the Ukraine-EU summit will take place on February 3, there is an open invitation to President Zelensky to visit Brussels,” he said during the briefing.

At the same time, the spokesman noted that the invitation to Zelensky to visit Brussels does not mean , that the summit will be held there — the location of the summit has not yet been determined.

According to the statement cited by Reuters, the topic of the summit is likely to be how the EU can continue to support Ukraine against Russia. The leaders of two key EU institutions – the Commission and the Council of EU Leaders, Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel – will also assess Ukraine's path to membership in the bloc. Zelenskyi's trips to the USA in Brussels hope that he will also visit the summit in person.
