The organizers of the competition will apply to the United Kingdom, which took second place in this year's competition.

According to tradition, the right to host “Eurovision” passes to the country that won the competition last year. However, this requires compliance with several conditions, including the safety of all participants and spectators.

In connection with the war waged in Ukraine by Russia, the EBU has assessed the extent to which our country will be able to host “Eurovision-2023”. The decision-making process was carried out with the participation of “Public”, as well as outside experts, including security.

After an objective analysis, the Eurovision Board, with deep regret, concluded that, given the current circumstances, the security and operational guarantees required by the broadcaster to conduct, organize and produce the Eurovision Song Contest in accordance with the Eurovision Rules, cannot be fulfilled by the broadcaster. .

The organizers also noted that negotiations are currently underway with the British Air Force Corporation on holding “Eurovision-2023”.
