Zelensky and the Prime Minister of Montenegro signed a declaration on Ukraine's integration into NATO

Montenegro became the third country after the Czech Republic and Belgium, with which Ukraine has already concluded such declarations. The President's Office notes that such a document is planned to be signed with several more countries by the end of the year.

Montenegro supports NATO's open door policy and, accordingly, the prospect < /span>Ukraine's acquisition of full membership in the Alliance, the Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazovich said during a video conference with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, reports Office of the President.

As a result of the negotiations, Zelenskyi and Abazovych signed the Joint Declaration, which defines the priority areas of cooperation between Ukraine and Montenegro within the strategic course of our country to acquire full membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine continues the consistent implementation of a strategic course on Euro-Atlantic integration and counts on using the important experience of Montenegro, which has already made its way to membership in the Alliance.

The interlocutors also discussed in detail the European integration of Ukraine and Montenegro as candidate countries for accession. Zelenskyi and Abazovych expressed the need for practical cooperation in the context of Ukraine's preparation for the next stage – the start of pre-accession negotiations.
